The Milford 5000 was completed over the weekend, with a very successful result for North Harbour teams.

The field of 32 teams came from Northland, North Harbour, Auckland, and Bay of Plenty.

On the first day three teams from Howick comprising of Team 1 Linda Fenton, Bruce Fenton, Rod Sadgrove, Team 2 Eddie Jones, Stephen Campbell, Dana Taylor, Team 3 Colin Ayris-Webster, Lea Hooper, Claire Orr, plus a team from Manly, Paul Daniels, Kathy Stevens, Brad Luiton all finished with the ultimate of 4 games won, going through as top qualifiers.

The field for Sunday was then divided into top 16 qualifiers to play for the Milford Cup and the bottom 16 playing for the Plate.

The next day, Sunday, posed some challenges for the Bowlers with the weather going from showers to strong winds plus quick greens. This changed the order of Competition Winners.
Three teams were sitting on 3 wins going into the last game. Those were Manly (Andy Dorrance), Manly (Paul Daniels), Milford (Hayden Wilkinson).

4th Helensville – Brandon McPhail, Sharon Parker, Jeni Hart – 2 wins
5th Birkenhead – Millie Nathan, William Tonga, Chad Nathan – 2 wins
6th Sunnybrae – Steve Carmichael, Graye Allnutt, Greg Staines – 2 wins

8 Teams finished the day on 2 wins, but as usual it all came down to SF, SA and Differential.
