Octagonal – 15 & 16 February – Men’s Premiers and Men’s Development
Premier Team at Browns Bay:
The Premier Team encountered a challenging tournament, with performances falling below expectations. Despite a strong showing in the recent Battle of the Bridge against Auckland, this competition didn’t go as hoped. Three games were closely contested but, unfortunately, were lost on the last end, which affected our overall standing. No matter the green and weather conditions, both teams played on under the same circumstances, therefore, we need to adjust our mindset and better adapt to such situations. A special mention goes to Brent Malcolm, who stepped in on short notice after Gordon’s injury and played admirably.
Development Team at Browns Bay:
The Development Team demonstrated significant improvement, showing much better form compared to the recent Battle of the Bridge. The team’s growing synergy was clearly reflected in their strong results at Howick. Despite a last-minute change to the playing roster, the pairs managed to achieve an impressive 6 out of 7 win record. Special congratulations go to Andy and Matthew for their exceptional performance. Additionally, Jimmy Heath, who joined the squad at short notice, played well in the games he participated in.
