Junior Singles – Mairangi Bay secure both titles

Mairangi Bay bowlers Phil Chisholm and Colleen Rice scored a double for their club when the North Harbour centre one to five year singles championships were held at Hobsonville on the weekend.

Chisholm followed another club-mate, Michael Jelley, last year’s champion, in winning the men’s singles while Rice was successful in the women’s.

In the men’s final Chisholm beat James Newlove (Warkworth) 21-12 and Rice survived a strong finish from Orewa’s Irene Donaldson to win the women’s final 21-18. Article by Lindsay Knight
