John Morgan – Sad News
Johns passing was posted on the BNH facebook earlier in the week. I apologise that it was not put directly on the BNH website and therefore would appear in the weekly Newsletter. Some members may not have picked it up. An oversight on my part. Lesley
On behalf of all the clubs in Bowls North Harbour our condolences go to Gill and the family. The work John did for Bowls North Harbour was dedicated and tireless and very much appreciated by us all
Below is the tribute from Northcote
Sad news, Northcote Bowling Club has been advised of the passing of John Morgan.
A private family service was held today (Monday), and Gill has requested that an occasion to celebrate Johns’ involvement at Northcote Bowls in particular, Bowls North Harbour, and Bowls Auckland, be arranged in the early new year.
Most will know that John and Gill settled in Kati Kati in recent months, to enjoy a more serene pace of life, one that Auckland could not possibly achieve, but still utilize the benefits of care and health support close at hand that a retirement village can offer.
Our thoughts go out to Gill, sons Michael and Fraser, & families at this time.
John devoted many years to bowls….
Not only playing (very capable), but also organising (great delegation skills) and administration at all sorts of levels (vision, huge work rate).
He once said of a fellow bowler “ the burgundy and gold colours of Northcote Bowling Club, flows through this mans body, such is his dedication”.
John Morgan, your contribution to our Club at Northcote over the years, exceeded those achievements you spoke of that day many times over, and will be truly celebrated in January 2020 when we all get together and say “thanks”.
