Harcourts Junior 1-5 Triples by Lindsay Knight

 

Promising Manly bowler Kevin Rainsford added to what has been a vintage season by skipping his triple of Keith Benson and Dave Pownall to a win in the North Harbour centre one-to-five years men’s championship at the weekend.

Three weeks earlier Rainford won the centre one-to-five singles title.

In the final the Rainsford line-up edged out Takapuna’s Bob Telfer, Doug Golightly and Gordon

Jenkins 17-16, a repetition of the disappointment Telfer and Jenkins experienced last season when they were also beaten triples finalists.

In the semi-finals Manly beat Birkenhead and Takapuna ousted as strong Browns Bay / Hobsonville composite triple.

Milford’s Jan Hutton, Jan Howson and Lyn Calver won the women’s triples round-robin.
