UPDATE FROM THE BOARD
Firstly its time to say a few thankyous……..
To Colin Rogan, Lisa Brown, Elaine McClintock, Maureen Taylor and Garry Banks for putting in the hard yards last week to enable delivery of the Centre singles and triples on the weekend as well as the inaugural Master’s pairs at Sunnybrae on Monday.
Don’t forget about the Masters triples and fours!
To all of the players and clubs who have shown patience , while we work through the changeover of our Centre Secretary/Events Manager.
Congratulations to Wendy Jensen and her Orewa triples side ( including Gail Dick and Jacqueline Broderson) on taking out the Centre triples . This is Wendy’s third Centre title this season.
Congratulations to Colin Rogan and Wayne Wrack on making the finals of the Men’s Centre singles.
The final will be played on a date , and at a time and venue , that works for both the players and the Centre.
We now have the quarter finalists for the junior twilight
(Takapuna, Birkenhead, Mairangi Bay White, Miford Blue, Mahurangi East,Milford White, Beachhaven and Northcote and the semi finalists for the B35 fast format event
(Riverhead, Browns Bay, Orewa Blue and Birkenhead). These events promise to be hard fought.
It is proposed that the B35 semi finals will be played on Thursday March 7 and the finals Thursday March 14. The venue for the semi-final and final will be advised later this week.
Entries are coming in for the Cadness Cup and the draw should be out later this week.
We are currently advertising the role of Centre Secretary/Events Manager, but in the short term Lisa Brown our treasurer has agreed to handle this role , in conjunction with Board members, which is awesome.
To those of you travelling to Wellington for the National Fours this week, we will be following the results closely!
The National Inter Centre event is being hosted by Auckland this year (March 21-24). Both our Men’s and Women’s squads are preparing well, and both have the ability to make it through the qualifying rounds to get to finals day!
Cheers
Graham
