From the Board
We have recently concluded meetings with the Chairpersons of our clubs. Topics that were covered included-
HBH 20,000 and the need for BNH to have a signature event on the bowls calendar.
Pennants
Power Play Pairs
Greens allocations for Centre events
“Wool sale” to endeavour to eliminate clubs hosting events on conflicting days of the week
Communication
Clearance certificates
The Board asked for feedback, after the chairpersons had consulted their respective match committees/Boards.
The summarised feedback was circulated to all clubs last week. Our view is that from these discussions and suggestions, we will be able to promote a comprehensive program that meets the concerns of clubs.
This week we are having a third meeting with the CEO of BNZ, Mark Cameron. Mark has been very pro-active in asking for our views over the last few months, and we have been very mindful of making clear recommendations from the feedback we receive from clubs and players.
Our Open and 1-8 rep teams play in their respective National events in March. The Open teams play in Christchurch and the 1-8 squads play in Auckland. The teams are all training well and have found the integration of Daniel Stamp (mental skills coach) a big plus.
Our Centre events continue to be well supported with entries. It is very pleasing to see different names appearing on lists from quarter finals through to finals. This shows depth in our game within North Harbour and given many of these players are juniors, it shows we have good pathways for success for the future.
Cheers, Graham
