Weekly Reminder – 11 January 2022

1. Club Entries – A reminder to clubs that when making entries to club competitions that you must also arrange to follow up with the payment of the entry fee. We do not want to exclude teams when entry fees have not been paid so please ensure you follow this through with your club treasurer. We did have to chase some clubs for the recent 1-5 year interclub!!!.

2. BNH NZ Masters – Clubs have received details of days when we would like the use of your greens for this major tournament. You should advise urgently if any of the allocations cannot be held at your club. The opening evening function on Sunday 13 February and all semi-finals on Thursday 17 February and finals on Friday 18 February will be held at Orewa Bowling Club, as the hosting club.

3. RSP Grants – Clubs are reminded that a Government Transition Fund payment is available on application as a follow on from the RSP (Resurgence Support Payment). It is accessed through the same channel as the RSP and it uses the date of 3 October for application. This looks like it will be the last grant of this type, for this past lockdown period, so clubs should apply quickly if they have not already done so. If you need any assistance then our treasurer, Raewyn Thomas, is only too willing to help. Please contact Raewyn on 027 499 8697. This is a final reminder.

4. Entries open for forthcoming events – A reminder for clubs and persons entering BNH competitions to check the entry conditions for the event on the entry platform, on the website, as entries are being made.

Men’s Interclub 7’s – Entries close on Friday 28 January 2022 for playing dates 12/13 February & 12 March 2022. Entry fee $100 per side.

Women’s Centre Triples – Entries close on Friday 4 February 2022 for playing dates 19/20 February 2022. Entry fee $75 per team.

Men’s Centre Singles – Entries close on Friday 4 February 2022 for playing dates 19/20 February 2022. Entry fee $25 per
player .

5. BNH Umpires Association Tournament – The next Umpires’ Association hosted tournament will be on Friday 14 January, 2022, at Birkenhead Bowling Club sponsored by Emmie Swart Ltd. It is an open any combination triples day and commences at 9.30am. These are popular tournaments and entries should be made early by email to Garry Moverley –[email protected]
